Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has lauded Ghana鈥檚 unwavering commitment to democracy and inclusive development, describing the West African nation as a 鈥渂eacon of inspiration鈥 for the entire African continent.
Delivering an address to Ghana鈥檚 Parliament during his official state visit, Prime Minister Modi praised the country鈥檚 resilience, democratic maturity, and leadership in the region.
鈥淲hen we look at Ghana, we see a nation that shines with courage, rises above history, and turns every challenge into creativity and grace. Your commitment to democratic ideals and inclusive progress truly makes Ghana a beacon of inspiration for the entire African continent,鈥 he said.
His remarks drew warm applause from Members of Parliament and dignitaries present at the session.
The visit marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between India and Ghana, with key focus areas including trade, technology, education, and cultural exchange.
Before his address to Parliament, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Ghana鈥檚 founding father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, by laying a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, where the former president and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah, are buried.
The Indian leader鈥檚 visit is expected to usher in renewed cooperation between the two countries, building on decades of diplomatic and economic collaboration.
