Gareth Edwards isn't making another 'Star Wars' film

Los Angeles, Jun 28 (PTI) British filmmaker Gareth Edwards says he has no plans to make another 鈥淪tar Wars鈥 film and is happy to 鈥渕ove on鈥.
Edwards directed 鈥淩ogue One: A Star Wars Story鈥, a 2016 film starring Felicity Jones and Diego Luna.
It revolved around a group of unlikely heroes who set out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, the Empire鈥檚 ultimate weapon of destruction.
The film was the first spinoff in the 鈥淪tar Wars鈥 franchise and earned USD 1.058 billion at the worldwide box office.
Asked if he would like to make another installment, the director said, 鈥淚鈥檓 very happy to move on and do my thing.鈥 The filmmaker added for him longevity of the film matters more than the box office numbers.
鈥淲hat you have to keep in your pocket as you go through making other films is that it鈥檚 not about how people feel the day it gets released, it鈥檚 how people feel about it 10, 20 years from now,鈥 he said.
鈥淲hen you make a movie, you鈥檙e living at least a year from now, you鈥檙e trying to imagine what it鈥檚 like, all these decisions you鈥檙e making, what they are going to be like a year from now when this movie is released, what鈥檚 the audience going to think?鈥 Edwards鈥 filmmaking credits also include movies such as 鈥淢onsters鈥 (2010) and 鈥淕odzilla鈥 (2014).
