Purchasing school uniform at the end of term can be a savvy way to save some quid ahead of the new academic year. Most supermarkets offer substantial discounts on shirts, trousers, skirts and even shoes to help keep costs low. Consequently, these essential items often fly off the shelves quickly as budget-conscious parents snap them up, so it’s wise to know when the school uniform sales kick off. The start dates and deals vary among the supermarkets. Some offer 20% off, others give 25% off, some apply to all items while others only cover selected pieces. One supermarket even offers a 拢5 bundle to kit out the kids for the September term. Remember, it’s crucial to buy items with enough ‘growing room’ in case your child has a growth spurt during the summer holidays! The team at Money Saving Central has shared the anticipated dates for the school uniform sale drops. Here are the dates they suggest you mark in your diary. Many parents prefer to buy their children’s uniform from M&S but it can be pricier compared to other supermarkets. That’s why numerous families wait for the end of term sale to stock up. This year, there’s likely to be 20% off M&S school uniform across the range, including polo shirts, trousers, skirts and shirts. Money Saving Central predicts the sale is likely to start on Tuesday July 1, 2025. Sainsbury’s has a ‘2022 price lock’ on its school uniform, making it good value. But you can pocket even more savings in the sale. This is one of the first sales to kick off, which started on Wednesday, 18 June 2025. Sainsbury’s school uniform will be discounted by 25%, with special offers on selected shoes and accessories as well. Aldi announced that its ‘sell-out Back to School bundle deal ‘ is returning for 2025 – and the price remains frozen at 拢5 for the fourth consecutive year. The offer made an earlier comeback this year, on Sunday, 29 June 2025. Appropriate for children aged four to 12, the range offers a variety of colours to match all primary schools. The 拢5 Aldi School Uniform Bundle includes a sweatshirt or cardigan, two polo shirts, and a choice of trousers, skirt, or cargo shorts. There are also individual items available, with prices starting from just 拢1.50. Tesco holds sales four to six times a year where savvy shoppers can secure up to 25% off all FandF clothing, including school uniforms. Money Saving Central predicts the next sale is likely to commence around Monday, 23 June 2025, but it will only last for a few days so you’ll need to act fast to grab the bargains. In addition, Tesco hosts a school uniform sale with discounts ranging from 20 to 25% off everything from shirts and trousers to lunch boxes, bottles, shoes, accessories, and bags. This sale is expected to take place sometime in July. Asda is also offering some fantastic deals on school uniforms, including George Leather School Shoes reduced from 拢21 to a mere 拢10 and a two-pack of pleated school skirts for half price, now only 拢6 instead of the usual 拢12.
