Aim to boost regional cyber efforts and secure Malaysia鈥檚 digital future
New Cybercrime Bill, due in Oct, aims to update laws, strengthen cyber threat response
Digital trust is the cornerstone of a modern digital society. As Malaysia digitally transforms the government, economy, and communities, steps must be taken to ensure trust in these digital systems remains strong.
According to the minister of digital, Gobind Singh Deo (pix), this requires a comprehensive approach encompassing three key pillars 鈥 framework, infrastructure, and education.
Speaking at the launch of the Asean 5G & Operational Technology (5GOT) Security Summit 2025, Gobind said, 鈥淭his is the mission of the summit. Over the next three days, we aim to define actionable approaches to implement digital trust across the region鈥檚 digital services. We seek to establish shared frameworks and guidelines for 5G and operational technology security within Asean.鈥
