Former Trump official reveals unsettling reason he lives separately from his wife

Donald Trump鈥檚 border czar, Tom Homan, has shared that due to death threats tied to his role in managing the president鈥檚 deportation initiatives, he is currently living separately from his wife.

In a discussion with New York Post reporter Miranda Devine on her podcast, the seasoned border security official mentioned, 鈥業 used to spend a lot of time with my sons as they grew up, but as my responsibilities increased 鈥 rising through the ranks to ICE director and beyond 鈥 my family time has severely diminished.鈥

鈥楳y wife鈥檚 living separately from me right now, mainly because I worked for many hours, but mostly because of the death threats against me.鈥

鈥楽he鈥檚 someplace else,鈥 the border czar continued. 鈥業 see her as much as I can, but the death threats against me and my family are outrageous.鈥

Homan served 30 years as a border patrol agent before being appointed to executive roles at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Tom and his wife, Elizabeth Homan, reportedly share four children.

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told the Daily Mail, 鈥楾om Homan is a patriot who is devoted to enhancing America鈥檚 safety at significant personal cost.鈥

鈥楬e sleeps away from his family so the American people can sleep soundly knowing that he鈥檚 getting dangerous criminal illegals out of their communities.鈥

The 63-year-old border czar says he鈥檚 sacrificing family time to enact the president鈥檚 sweeping deportation operation 鈥 one that already snared hundreds of thousands.

The Trump administration has deported around 200,000 individuals, Homan said in late May.

In addition, ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), along with other officials, have arrested over 100,000 people suspected of breaking immigration laws.

That amounts to an average of 750 arrests per day 鈥 double what the average has been over the past decade.

Homan worked in Trump鈥檚 first administration as acting ICE director for a year and a half before leaving after his nomination got hung up in the Senate.

The border czar was a contributor on Fox News for several years, too, often noting migrant crime happening along the border.

When the Republican called Homan to take a job in the second administration, he was with his wife, Elizabeth, at dinner.

鈥業 was the first person he called, bringing back, which, again, was a proud moment, but I was actually out to dinner with my wife, and then my phone rang, and I looked down, and it says, 鈥楶OTUS.鈥 And my wife says, 鈥淗e鈥檚 asking him to come back, isn鈥檛 he?鈥濃 the border czar recounted.

鈥楽o I walked outside, and the first thing he said to me was, 鈥榊ou鈥檝e been bitching about it for four years. Well, come back and fix it.鈥 So how do you say no?鈥

While on Fox, Homan tore into Biden鈥檚 鈥榦pen border鈥 policies that estimates suggest could have led to over 10 million illegal border crossings.

鈥楾here were 300,000 missing children under the last administration,鈥 Homan shared on the 鈥楶od Force One鈥 podcast.

鈥榃e鈥檝e found thousands of them 鈥 We rescued victims of sex trafficking [and] two weeks ago, we rescued a 14-year-old that was already pregnant, living with adult men.鈥

鈥榃e rescued some victims of forced labor. We found children working on ranches and chicken farms, not going to school, but enslaved labor in the United States of America.鈥

Homan and other immigration officials also met with lawmakers to advocate for more border spending earlier this year.

Trump鈥檚 upcoming Big Beautiful Bill Act will contain billions for additional border enforcement and barrier technology.
