Open seat for open space

The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority has an opening on its Expenditure Plan Oversight Committee (EPOC).

Members of the EPOC are volunteers who reside within the authority鈥檚 working area and review the use of all public funds collected via Measure Q and Measure T. The authority鈥檚 revenues are principally derived from Measure Q, a $24 parcel tax approved by voters in 2014 and extended as Measure T in 2020 without increase. Andrea Mackenzie, the authority鈥檚 general manager said in a release that the seven-member EPOC 鈥減lays a key role in ensuring transparent use of Measure Q and T funds.鈥

鈥淭he EPOC plays a crucial role in honoring the trust placed in us by taxpayers, who strongly supported Measure T in 2020 knowing that public oversight would be part of the process,鈥 added Mackenzie. 鈥淭his committee鈥檚 work is a direct reflection of our commitment to fulfilling that promise to the voters.鈥

Once selected, EPOC members meet up to four times a year and serve four-year terms. To apply, visit https://bit.ly/43WTzoK.
