Fearne Cotton has candidly opened up about her journey following her separation from Jesse Wood last year.
Joining the sofa on BBC Breakfast this Wednesday, Fearne shared with Jon Kay and Sally Nugent the personal battles she’s been navigating through the year, touching upon her health and life post-surgery.
The beloved TV presenter, a mum to two with her ex-husband Jesse, bravely disclosed the details of having two benign jaw tumours removed in December, crediting her resilience to the support she received from celeb friend Davina McCall.
“It was the end of last year, it ended up being one benign tumour and a couple of lymph nodes that had to come out with it,” Fearne revealed about her ordeal. “But I’ve recovered well and I’m feeling good, and very grateful I think aswell.”
Sharing her experience further, Fearne reflected on why she chose to discuss her health openly, especially on her Happy Place podcast, where she found solace in the stories of others facing similar trials, reports the Daily Record.
“I guess with the health stuff, I thought there will be other people who have nerve-racking things coming up health wise,” the broadcaster mentioned to the hosts.
She went on to say: “Actually, I found it really helpful hearing other people’s stories. A friend had the exact same operaiton, weirdly, two years before, and that was a massive comfort.”
As she recounted her time away from work for recovery, Fearne expressed how she’s now revelling in her return, feeling fully back in the groove and looking forward to what’s next.
Reflecting on her recent downtime, Fearne shared: “I think it was like a little pressing pause moment, which was no bad thing. It’s so rare that I take off any time and I had to properly rest and recover; it went quite quickly.”
She continued optimistically: “I’m definitely back in the swing of things now.”
Fearne’s time for recuperation coincided with her announcement of parting ways with Jesse, son of the iconic Rolling Stones musician Ronnie Wood. The pair had been an item for a decade and tied the marital knot in 2014.
In a heartfelt statement in December, disclosed via X, she revealed: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.”
Their children remain the foremost concern, as she stated: “Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
