Fearne Cotton has shared an update with fans following her split from ex-husband Jesse Wood last year. The TV star appeared on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday (2 July) to discuss the difficulties she’s faced over the past year, including her health struggles. Fearne, who shares two children with ex-husband Jesse, opened up to hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent about an operation she underwent to remove two benign jaw tumours in December last year, as well as her recovery process, returning to work and being supported by fellow celeb Davina McCall. “It was the end of last year, it ended up being one benign tumour and a couple of lymph nodes that had to come out with it,” Fearne began by explaining. “But I’ve recovered well and I’m feeling good, and very grateful I think aswell.” She reflected on her decision to speak about her health struggles openly on her Happy Place podcast, revealing she’d found it helpful hearing other people’s stories so opted to share her own. “I guess with the health stuff, I thought there will be other people who have nerve-racking things coming up health wise,” Fearne told Jon and Sally. She added: “Actually, I found it really helpful hearing other people’s stories. A friend had the exact same operaiton, weirdly, two years before, and that was a massive comfort.” The mum-of-two looked back on the time off she had to recover after her operation, revealing she feels she’s now “back in the swing of things”. “I think it was like a little pressing pause moment, which was no bad thing. It’s so rare that I take off any time and I had to properly rest and recover; it went quite quickly. “I’m definitely back in the swing of things now,” Fearne added reassuringly. Fearne’s operation occurred around the same time she announced her split from Jesse, who is the son of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood. She and Jesse were together for 10 years in total and tied the knot back in 2014. In a statement released in December via X, the broadcaster announced: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. “Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.” BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One
