“F1” cast: See who's behind the wheel of Brad Pitt's pulse-pounding racing film

From the director of the Oscar-nominated Top Gun: Maverick comes F1, an immersive journey into the lightning-fast world of Formula One.

F1 follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a.k.a “the greatest that never was,” a ’90s racing prodigy whose promising career was nearly derailed by a devastating crash. Now, 30 years later, Sonny works as a roaming racer-for-hire until his friend and old teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling team on the brink of collapse, offers him one last shot.

“Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to Formula 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world,” reads the official synopsis. “He’ll drive alongside Joshua Peace, the team’s hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. But as engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him, and he finds that in Formula 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition — and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.”

Racing into theaters on June 27, this star-studded film sees Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, and Bardem leading the pack. Plus, all 10 Formula One teams and drivers from the 2023 season appear as themselves, including Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr., Sergio Pérez, Fernando Alonso, Benoit Tréluyer, and more.
