Eurostar passengers face travel chaos today as they are told to cancel or postpone their journeys.
On Tuesday, two people were killed in separate incidents on the railway lines between Paris and Lille, causing major disruption.
The company has now said that a cable theft near Lille has created yet further chaos on the network today.
Most trains between London St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord this morning have been delayed or cancelled.
Passengers have reported being stranded for up to seven hours as they wait to hear when they will be able to make their journey across the Channel.
Eurostar said on its website: 鈥淒ue to a cable theft near Lille Europe, our trains are likely to be subject to severe delays and last-minute cancellations. We advise you to cancel or postpone your trip.鈥
Those affected by the delays have been advised they can claim compensation if they are delayed by more than 60 minutes.
One passenger reported being stranded in Brussels with no information being provided as to when the next train to London would be departing.
Travellers were also told that they could take 鈥渨hatever train鈥 was departing to their destination but warned that there was no guarantee of a seat.
Those affected by the delays have vented their frustration online.
One passenger said on social media: 鈥淢y disabled niece had no choice to sleep on the floor of the train station Gare du Nord, Paris last night. Due to the cancellation of trains going to London, as all reasonable priced hotels weren’t available. Her birthday holiday ruined.鈥
Another said last night: 鈥淔or the passengers stuck at Garde Du Nord on the trains, the supplies of food and drinks are running out, air con is not working, coffee machine broken as is the card machine!! Total joke.鈥
