Epi Epi A! brings colour, rhythm and laughter to Benidorm鈥檚 summer nights

Benidorm鈥檚 summer cultural calendar will reach one of its most playful peaks on Thursday 10 July, when the acclaimed Uruguayan-Spanish theatre and music duo Epi Epi A! take the stage at Parque de Foietes with their show Revoltijo Musical. Free and open to all, the performance kicks off at 9pm and promises a joyful blend of live music, theatre and clowning that will entertain audiences of all ages.

With their signature mix of humour, energy and musical creativity, Epi Epi A! are no strangers to recognition: their children鈥檚 albums have been nominated twice for the Premios Graffiti and even shortlisted for a Latin Grammy. But it鈥檚 on stage where their unique style truly shines 鈥 and Benidorm will be no exception.

Revoltijo Musical is a colourful, dynamic and highly interactive family concert designed to make children sing, dance and dream. Armed with electric guitars, bold costumes and boundless enthusiasm, In茅s and Pichu 鈥 the alter egos of In茅s Saavedra and Mamen Garc铆a 鈥 transform public spaces into magical artistic playgrounds, where every spectator is invited to take part.

The show forms part of the 2025 Music and Theatre Promotion Campaign by the Diputaci贸n de Alicante, in collaboration with the Benidorm City Council鈥檚 Department of Culture, and reflects the company鈥檚 long-standing commitment to combining entertainment with education.

Over the past twelve years, Epi Epi A! has carved out a unique space in Spain鈥檚 performing arts scene. Their projects range from interactive concerts based on original albums for children, to live theatre with music for adults and family audiences, and Valencian-language storytelling sessions for the youngest. Every creation blends music, acting and clowning to foster joy, creativity and learning.

Multi-instrumentalist, arranger and singer

The company鈥檚 musical soul is In茅s Saavedra, a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and singer-songwriter from Uruguay, who has lived in the Valencia region since 2009. A recipient of several music awards since being named 鈥淏reakthrough Artist鈥 in 2005, Saavedra is known for her vocal range and the eclectic musical influences she weaves into each composition 鈥 from authorial songs for adults to poetic and instrumental works, and, of course, her now-famous children鈥檚 albums Epi Epi A! and Epi Epi A! 2, the latter earning her Latin Grammy and Graffiti nominations.

Her artistic partner is Mamen Garc铆a, also known as Pichu, an actress and clown with a deep background in theatre performance and direction, trained at the Taller de Artes Esc茅nicas del Campello and in workshops with the likes of Leo Bassi and Gianina C膬rbunariu. Garc铆a鈥檚 contributions go beyond acting: she is also a seasoned scriptwriter and educator, and the creative force behind the educational concept of Epi Epi A! 2 鈥 more than a concert!, where storytelling and theatre become tools for engaging young minds.

Together, In茅s and Pichu are the ambassadors of the world of Epi Epi A!, a world where everyone is an artist 鈥 and if you come close enough, you become one too. Their performances are more than concerts: they are immersive, didactic experiences, featuring original songs in Spanish and a variety of musical styles, aimed especially at children under nine.

Their Benidorm show will last 60 minutes, and promises not only laughter and rhythm under the stars, but also a celebration of art鈥檚 power to bring people together 鈥 across ages, languages and borders.

So if you鈥檙e in town, don鈥檛 miss this chance to dive into the world of Epi Epi A!, where music, imagination and play take centre stage.
