East Kambia people recieve new high school

More than 10,000 people in the far-flung East Kambia, Jiwaka Province, will be in the right mood to celebrate this upcoming celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the country with the new Kambia High School, courtesy of the Jiwaka Provincial Government.

This is because they will have the new Kambia Boarding High School built soon.

Jiwaka Provincial Administrator, Rick Kogen, took out his busy schedule, flew to East Kambia over the weekend, and jointly launched the new Kambia High School and Kambia Coca project at Sikoi village on Saturday.

Mr Kogen was accompanied by the Provincial principal education advisor, Andrew Kuk.

During the launch, Mr Kogen said the Jiwaka provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Simon Kaiwi, remains committed to delivering to the people of Kambia.

He said the people of East Kambia have been overlooked by the past successive government. Mr Kogen said the people of Kambia lack vital services in education and health.

He said the East Kambia people have nothing to show and celebrate in terms of government service delivery to mark the 50th Anniversary.

鈥淏ut now the people of Kambia will have a good reason to celebrate with this new high school to mark the country鈥檚 50th Anniversary,鈥 he said.

Mr Kogen said the jiwaka Provincial Government under the leadership of governor Simon Kaiwi remain committed to deliver to the people of Kambia with tangible government services.

He said the provincial government has already built two primary school in the Kambia area.

Mr Kogen said education remains the number priority for the jiwaka provincial government.

He said the provincial government made K400,000 capital investment for the new high school in 2023.

Mr Kogen said the provincial government made another additional K400,000 to by Lucas mill to saw timbers for the project.

He said the sawmill machines will be use to cut timbers and build classrooms and teachers houses.

Mr Kogen said Nganbe Faith Construction Company was already engaged to build the new school.

He said the materials and the workmen of the construction will be airlifted to the site to launch the construction of the project.

Mr Kogen also urged the locals Kambians to cooperate with the contractor to build the school.

He said the new high school will ease the burden of the student in the Kambia area who use to attend high schools far away.

Mr Kogen said the new high school will cater to the students of the four primary schools in the Kambia area when it gets off the ground.

He urged the contractor to fast-track the construction of the project within six months so that classes can commence next year.

Mr Kuk said it is a blessing for the people of East Kambia to receive the new school after waiting in vain for ages.

He gave assurance to the people that they will work around the clock to fast-track the process so that the new Kambia High School can be fully registered and operate early next year.
