AT just 27, Clifford Dzvairo isn鈥檛 waiting his turn, he鈥檚 taking it. With the calm confidence of a seasoned tactician and the hunger of someone with everything to prove, Dzvairo has set his sights on leading Marondera based FC Hunters to the Premier Soccer League, and into the history books.
Barely months into his tenure, Dzvairo has already made his presence felt, guiding the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One leaders to a crucial 1鈥0 away victory over promotion rivals Tenax. It was a statement win, and for Dzvairo, a bold first step toward fulfilling an ambition years in the making.
鈥淓astern Region is one of the toughest divisions in the country. You can dominate all season and still fall short at the end. That says a lot about the level of competition here,鈥 he said.
Having coached four different teams in the same league prior to joining FC Hunters, Dzvairo brings more than youthful energy to the dugout, he brings valuable experience.
鈥淭he last four seasons have taught me a lot about managing pressure, adapting to situations, and growing as a leader,鈥 Dzvairo explained. 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 play at the highest level, so I鈥檝e had to put in the work, learn from other coaches, and earn my place through commitment. I believe I鈥檓 ready for the PSL.鈥
Dzvairo鈥檚 appointment by FC Hunters marks a significant chapter for both the club and the coach. With the team sitting narrowly at the top of the log, expectations are high, and Dzvairo welcomes the pressure.
鈥淭his opportunity is different from my previous jobs. FC Hunters are serious about their ambitions. They were clear from the start that they expect us to deliver the championship,鈥 he said.
鈥淚鈥檓 truly grateful for the trust they鈥檝e placed in me. It鈥檚 not every day that a young coach is handed such a massive responsibility. I want to repay that faith with hard work and results.鈥
But for Dzvairo, this mission extends beyond personal achievement.
鈥淚鈥檓 doing this not just for myself, but for all young coaches out there. We have talent, we have ideas, but often, we lack opportunities. If I can succeed here, maybe it opens doors for others too.鈥
With belief in his squad, a clear vision, and unshakable ambition, Clifford Dzvairo is determined to prove that youth is not a barrier to success, but a force that can drive it.
If he pulls it off, the PSL might not just welcome a new club, it may also witness the rise of one of Zimbabwe鈥檚 brightest coaching prospects.
