People in the UK who care for someone else for a certain number of hours could be missing out on extra financial support. Carer’s Allowance is issued by the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) to those who look after someone receiving certain benefits for at least 35 hours a week. The type of care provided could include help with washing and cooking, managing bills or shopping. You could get 拢83.30 a week, which can be paid weekly or every four weeks. Those claiming Carer’s Allowance automatically get National Insurance credits. Claimants could also get access to other perks, including support from your local council, council tax reduction, Universal Credit , Pension Credit and grants or bursaries to help pay for courses and training.
