Awareness rally and programme
The National Service Scheme of Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College, Mettamalai, Sattur, organised an anti-drug awareness rally on June 30 and health awareness programme on July 4. K. Raju, Chairman, and R. Muthukumar, Secretary presided. The rally was flagged off by Senthilkumar, Traffic Inspector, Sattur, and inaugurated by the principal R. Ushadevi. Many students, faculty members, and the public participated in it. The rally commenced at the Sattur Fire Station and concluded at the Sattur Town Police Station.
Sattur Block Medical Officer Rajakumar spoke about nutrition, physical fitness, mental health and prevalent health challenges faced by the youngsters at a health awareness program. College Principal R. Ushadevi presided. Student M. Ponni welcomed and S Amutha proposed a vote of thanks.
Career guidance programme
The Department of Computer Applications and Tech Zone of Sri Kaliswari College, Sivakasi, organised a two-day career guidance programme to provide students with skills for career growth in IT and cybersecurity.
On the first day, M. Vijay, IT Security and Audit Analyst, JoomDev, New Delhi, discussed on 鈥楥areer Guidance 鈥 Exploring opportunities in Cyber security: A roadmap for aspiring professionals.鈥 K. Muthukamatchi from ZOHO, Tenkasi, spoke on 鈥淭ransforming Aspirations into Achievements: A Career Journey in the IT Landscape.鈥
On the Second Day, J. Jeyaram, Designer and Executive, Artistic Art Forum Erode, spoke on 鈥楨mpowering Futures: A Career Guidance and Interview Skills Development Programme鈥. Student A Harini welcomed. College principal P. K. Balamurugan, presided. R. Muthulakshmi, Vice-principal and Head of the Department of Computer Applications felicitated. T Nitish Kumar proposed a vote of thanks. Over 225 students participated.
Pledge against drug abuse
Students of Equitas Gurukul Matric Higher Secondary School, Dindigul, took a pledge against drug abuse. Teacher-led school-based prevention programmes can help students recognise negative consequences associated with alcohol and drug use.
Plastic-Free Bag Day
Christian International CBSE School, Oddanchatram, observed plastic-free bag day on July 3. The initiative was aimed to encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives such as cloth, jute and paper bags. Students were engaged in a variety of activities.
International Continuing Education Programme.
Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Pharmacy, along with the Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University, organised an International Continuing Education Programme titled 鈥楻ecent Advancement in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industry鈥. The Chairman K. Sridharan presided. Principal N. Venkatesan welcomed. Shahul Hameed Mohamed, Senior Application Specialist at Gulf Corporation for Technology was the chief guest. The Resource persons were Balamurugan Sethurathinam, AVP, NAWal Analytical Lab India Private Ltd, Hosur and L. Karunagaran, Director, Nyoma Pharmaceutical LLP, Chennai.
Alumni silver jubilee reunion
The 1996-2000 Batch Alumni silver jubilee reunion was held at Kalasalingam University, Srivilliputhur. Chancellor K. Sridharan presided. Pro Chancellor S. Arivazhagi Sridharan and Registrar V. Vasudevan addressed the event.
University Alumni Association president R. Murugeswari welcomed. Around 150 engineering alumni from 14 countries visited the campus. Muthukumar, an alumnus, moderated the program. The Alumni presented two drinking water purification units to the chancellor. Alumni Murugan, Suruli, Sathish, Salomon, and Gopinath organised the reunion ceremony. Sriram Vijay spoke. Professors K.S. Thanalakshmi, S. Kailasam, and P. Balamurugan and others participated.
National Doctors鈥 Day celebrated
The Doctors鈥 Day was celebrated in Srivi Lions International School, Srivilliputhur on July 1. Dr. Grace, Dr. Vijo Anto Prabhu, and Dr. Maheswari were the chief guests, who gave some preventive care and healthy lifestyle motivation tips to the students. School Correspondent R. Venkadachalapathy, Director S. Gopala Krishnan, Principal S.Sivakumar, Vice-principal R. Pandeeswari and Lions school committee members were present.
Traditional food festival
A Traditional food festival was held at A.K.D. Dharmaraja Women鈥檚 College. The event鈥檚 special guest, Saranya, addressed the benefits of millets. College correspondent Ramani Dharmakrishnaraja and president Geetha presided. Educational Consultant Sankaranarayanan participated. Students prepared and sold dishes made from millets, fruits, and traditional Tamil rice varieties. Student Sakunthala welcomed. Principal Lakshmi felicitated and student Ramya Sri proposed a vote of thanks.
