'Didn鈥檛 Take It Well': Harsh Gujral, Sudhanshu On Janvee's Reaction To 'Jhaar Phoonk' Remark | Exclusive

Actor Sudhanshu Pandey and comedian Harsh Gujral were a part of Karan Johar-hosted The Traitors. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, they reflected on their much-talked-about dynamic with Janvee Gaurr. They reacted to Harsh accusing Janvee of practising black magic, and how the offhand comment snowballed into an uncomfortable silence.
Harsh Gujral recalled how he was the only one who initially struck up conversations with Janvee. 鈥淓k hi banda tha jo Janvee ji se baat karta tha, wo main tha (I was the only one in the house who spoke to her),鈥 he told us. 鈥淢aine bola tha mean nahi kiya tha. Uske baad usne baat hi nahi ki. Is baar mili thi toh theek thi (I told her that I didn鈥檛 meant it but she never spoke to me in the house after that. But she was fine when we met recently),鈥 he added, explaining that though he didn鈥檛 intend to hurt her, she stopped talking to him after that incident.
Sudhanshu Pandey, on the other hand, shared his perspective on why things may have soured. 鈥淎ap live show mein camera ke aage 鈥榡haar phoonk鈥 wala bana do toh kya lagega? (You are doing about black magic on live television)鈥 he said, laughing at the memory. He added thoughtfully, 鈥淪he comes from a very different background. She probably did not understand the whole scenario well. She is a single mother, lives by herself. Aadmi ek zone se aata hai, aisi cheez mazaak mazaak mein bol di (Everyone comes from their own zone). She didn鈥檛 take it well.鈥

Both actors pointed out how regional stereotypes may have played a role in how their words were perceived. Harsh, who hails from Kanpur, admitted, 鈥淣orth ka tone hi aisa lagta hai ke kuch galat hi bol raha hoga (People generally tend to misunderstand the tone of North Indians).鈥 Sudhanshu chimed in, 鈥淣orth ke logo ko pata nahi kyu log iss nazar se dekhte hain ke wo zaleel aadmi hain (I don鈥檛 know why people look at North Indians as if they are indecent or disrespectful),鈥 to which Harsh quipped with a grin, 鈥淗um thode bohot toh hain (We are a little bit).鈥 Their banter made it clear that while they may come across as brusque to some, their intentions were never malicious.
Meanwhile, Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther went on to win The Traitors.
