Chinese Boy Rushes Back For Food Mid-Earthquake, Internet Can鈥檛 Handle It

A young boy in China is gaining widespread attention after his reaction during an earthquake was caught on camera, and it is leaving people in splits. While his family ran for safety, he ran back for food. The incident took place on June 23 in Qingyuan, Guangdong province, during a 4.3-magnitude earthquake.
A family was at home having dinner when the tremors began. According to a report in the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the mother was away on a work trip while the father and his two sons were eating at the table.
The father, seeing the room shake, grabbed his younger son and rushed towards the door. The older boy also started running out, but then suddenly turned back for the food.
The boy ran back to the table, took a few quick bites, then grabbed a bowl of rice and a dish of stir-fried onions, snow peas and pork. As he tried to carry them out, his father shouted for him to put them back. The boy came back, placed the dishes down and again took a few more bites of food.
The video of the moment has spread widely online, with many people finding the boy鈥檚 priorities funny.

As per SCMP, the family lives on the 9th floor, which is why the father was concerned. He was worried his son might get hurt while trying to carry the food downstairs. After reaching the ground floor, they waited outside for about an hour.
Li, the father, also said that while they were waiting, the boy even asked if he could go back up to get his drone.
Speaking to local media, Li said, 鈥淎t the time, I was so nervous and just kept telling him to run, run. He has a natural comedic gene. I only realised how funny it was after watching the video.鈥
He added that the food his son grabbed wasn鈥檛 even his favourite, but 鈥渉e just likes to eat.鈥
After things had settled down, Li spoke to his son and explained the importance of staying safe during emergencies. He reminded him that life and safety always come first.
