ST. LOUIS – Thousands of storm survivors have sought aid at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, where over 38 organizations are providing assistance following an EF-3 tornado. The recovery center offers a wide range of services, including free food supply assistance, Walmart gift cards, SNAP benefits help and more. 鈥淵es, I鈥檓 very grateful that help is here. Because any other time I wouldn鈥檛 be able to get help like this. I wouldn鈥檛 be able to get a free birth certificate,” said tornado survivor Janai Holt. “I wouldn鈥檛 have to go somewhere else where I would have to pay. I鈥檓 in a bind already as it is. I can鈥檛 afford to pay for extra things; by them being here, they are helping me a lot.鈥 Organizations such as the Salvation Army and the Small Business Administration are on site to assist with various recovery needs. The Attorney General鈥檚 Office is also present to protect families from scams targeting storm victims.
