A horrifying CCTV footage has left the internet shocked beyond words. It shows a woman in Pune viciously assaulting her cat, causing widespread anger. The video, published on Instagram by Nitesh Khare of the Society for Animal Safety, shows the woman repeatedly bashing the cat to the ground before callously flinging it into the air. The disturbing footage sparked a strong response online, with many denouncing the woman’s brutal acts.
In the footage, the woman is seen in a corridor, picking up a cat that is attempting to enter her room. Enraged, she repeatedly slams the cat to the ground before hurling it into the air. The startled animal tries to flee, but the woman follows it. She then re-enters the scene with the cat in hand, slapping it and throwing it in another direction.

Reportedly, the woman is a student from Chhattisgarh who lives in Pune with her partner. The Society for Animal Safety member stated that, despite identifying the woman, her name was not publicly released to preserve her safety. He wrote, ‘A pet cat was brutally beaten and thrown in a corridor by a student from Chhattisgarh residing in Pune with her partner. Thanks to swift action and police intervention, we got them detained and made them realise their mistake. The cat is now safe and will soon move to a loving foster home. NC has been filed.”
He further added, “Remember: Your pets deserve the same love, care, and respect as any family member. If we ever find animals being mistreated, we will ensure strict legal action is taken. Let’s make this world kinder for all living beings.”
Reacting to the brutal incident, one user said, Her admission has to be cancelled on the spot. The lady needs mental health treatment, not a career. She doesn’t deserve to be a human being. The same treatment should be applied to her bashing and hitting. The amount of pain she needs to experience.” Another user noted, “These things happen only at gated communities residents with only educated people involved.”
