CBSE Compartment Exams Datesheet 2025: Practical Papers Begin on July 10

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the dates for the practical exams for students who were in the compartment category in the results announced in May 2025. The datesheet and guidelines are available at the official CBSE website — cbse.gov.in. As per the official notification, CBSE will administer the practical exams for Class 10 and Class 12 supplementary exams from July 10 to 15. According to the datesheet, CBSE Class 10 supplementary exams will be held from July 15 to July 22, and the Class 12 supplementary exams will take place in a single day on July 15. A class 12 student who has been placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat in Practical (RP) will have to appear in the practical examination only during the Supplementary exams, and there is no need for such candidate to appear in the theory examination as previous theory marks will be carried forward and accounted for. Meanwhile, students who have been placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat in Theory and Practical Both (RB) shall have to appear the practical examination as well as in the theory examination during the Supplementary Examinations, 2025. In Class 10, a candidate is declared pass in a subject provided he has secured 33 marks including Theory and Internal Assessment. If a candidate has been placed in the Compartment category and was absent in the Internal Assessment, such candidates will be awarded pro-rata marks in the Internal Assessment based on theory marks awarded in the supplementary examination. No Internal Assessment will be conducted for such students during supplementary as it is a year-long exercise. For regular candidates, practical examinations will be conducted in their schools. For private students, practical examinations shall be conducted in the Examination Centres fixed for theory examinations. In case in any examination centre/school, the facility for practical exams in a particular subject(s) is not available, the concerned Regional Office may make necessary arrangements for conducting practical examination in that subject(s) in a nearby examination centre/school.
