St. Croix side Champion Athletic Performance Academy (CAPA for short) and St. Thomas’ Raymix Soccer Club both came away with convincing wins Sunday in Week 3 of the U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Association’s Men’s Premier League.
CAPA (2-0-0, six points) remained one of three unbeaten and undrawn teams in the Premier League after routing St. Croix Division opponent Prankton Soccer Club (0-0-2) 12-0 at the USVISF’s Bethlehem Soccer Complex.
Later Sunday, Raymix SC (1-1-0, four points) picked up its first win of the season by defeating St. Thomas Division foe Massey Soccer Academy (0-0-2) 4-1 at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School field.
CAPA is one of three teams with unbeaten and undrawn records in the Premier League’s opening stages, along with St. Croix side Helenites Sports Club (1-0-0, three points) and St. Thomas side New Vibes Soccer Club (1-0-0, three points). Both Helenites SC and New Vibes SC were off this weekend.
Up next: Two matches are on the schedule in Week 4 of Premier League play. On St. Croix, defending league champion Rovers Soccer Club (0-0-1) takes on Helenites SC at the Bethlehem Complex at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29. Meanwhile, on St. Thomas, New Vibes SC faces LRVI Football Club (0-1-0, one point) at the Eudora Kean High field at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 29.

Champion Athletic Performance Academy (CAPA) 12, Prankton Soccer Club 0: Trevon Thorpe vaulted to the top of the Premier League scoring table after posting a double hat trick in CAPA’s shutout over Prankton SC.
Thorpe completed his hat trick in the first half, scoring three goals over an eight-minute span to put CAPA ahead 5-0 at the break.
Davion Bell had put CAPA on top with his goal in the 11th minute, and Rabi Abdallah made it 2-0 by scoring in the 14th minute. Thorpe then cut loose with goals in the 40th and 41st minutes, as well as the second minute of stoppage time.
Thorpe opened the second half with his fourth goal in the 49th minute, then completed the double hat trick with goals in the 73rd and 74th minute.
Glenson Scotland also had a second-half hat trick for CAPA, scoring in the 66th, 75th and 82nd minutes, and Hurbert Prince scored in the 50th minute.
Candel Rawlins posted his first clean sheet of the season in goal for CAPA.
Raymix Soccer Club 4, Massey Soccer Academy 1: Raymix SC broke open a tie at the halftime break with three goals in the second half to win its first match of the season.
Clevens D’Haiti had put Raymix SC on top with his goal in the eighth minute, only for Massey SA to even things up on Jonathan Joseph’s goal in the 17th minute.
However, things clearly swung Raymix SC’s way in the second half, with Jamesky Fraisint’s goal in the 49th minute putting them ahead to stay.
Raymix SC then picked up insurance goals from Wood Pierre in the 82nd minute and Herve Omilus in the 87th minute.
