A 26-year-old man who stole clothing and cigarettes from a Rhos-on Sea property has been jailed for burglary offences. Oliver Crossley, of Queen鈥檚 Park, Colwyn Bay, pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary and to possession of Class A and B drugs at Llandudno Magistrates鈥 Court.
The incident occurred on Saturday, June 28 at a property on First Avenue, Rhos-on-Sea, and was reported shortly after 6pm. Supplied with a description of two male suspects, attending officers were quickly able to arrest Crossley and another male after they were located nearby.
Crossley, who was further arrested for assaulting a police officer during his apprehension, was sentenced to 12 months in prison at a hearing at Llandudno Magistrates Court on June 30. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here
The other arrested man denies involvement in the burglary and remains under investigation. Detective Inspector Rich Evans said: 鈥淭his case demonstrates the effectiveness of swift, coordinated policing and our commitment to tackling acquisitive crime head-on.
鈥淭hanks to the rapid response of officers and the support of vigilant members of the public, a suspect was quickly apprehended and brought before the courts within 48 hours of the offence.
