Navami, daughter of D. Bindu who died in the building collapse at the Government Medical College Hospital, resumed her treatment on Monday.
She has been admitted to the hospital鈥檚 emergency wing, CL-3 section, hospital authorities confirmed. Cooperation Minister V.N. Vasavan and District Collector John V. Samuel visited Navami and assured her family that the government would extend all necessary medical support. They also spoke with her relative Divya.
Earlier, Health Minister Veena George had contacted the family and assured them that the government would bear the full cost of Navami鈥檚 treatment.
According to hospital sources, nearly 90% of the required tests have been completed and she is likely to undergo surgery in the coming days. Navami is currently receiving care under the Neurology and Orthopaedic departments.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists staged a protest march to the medical college on Monday demanding the resignation of the Health Minister. BJP State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated the protest.
