Bengaluru: If you鈥檙e planning to step out this morning, brace yourself for heavy traffic in several parts of the city. Bengaluru is once again grappling with severe congestion on some of its busiest stretches due to peak hour rush and a major protest near Freedom Park. Commuters travelling from Mahadevapura Bridge towards Iblur are facing long tailbacks owing to peak morning traffic. The stretch, often a pressure point during office hours, was particularly choked today, with vehicles crawling at a snail鈥檚 pace. Similarly, the Iblur to Devarabeesanahalli corridor has also reported heavy congestion, leaving motorists stranded in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Adding to the city鈥檚 traffic woes, a massive protest has been planned at Freedom Park from 8.00 am today, organised by various groups to push for their demands. According to police estimates, between 4,000 to 5,000 people are expected to gather at the venue, leading to major disruptions in the surrounding areas. Traffic police have issued an advisory, urging the public to avoid routes around Freedom Park and instead take alternative roads to reach their destinations. Authorities are on high alert, and additional traffic personnel have been deployed to manage the flow. However, with the morning rush and protest coinciding, delays are expected, especially in the central and eastern parts of the city. Motorists are advised to plan their commute accordingly, use real-time navigation apps, and keep extra travel time in hand.
