Ben Shephard admits 'most ridiculous thing' he's done as This Morning star leaves fans in awe

Ben Shephard has amazed his co-stars and fans as he reflected on what he described as the ‘most ridiculous thing’ he’s ever done. The This Morning star previously revealed that he had taken on the World’s Toughest Mudder. Some may be familiar with Tough Mudder, in which participants attempt 10-to-12-mile-long obstacle courses. However, the World’s Toughest Mudder lasts 24 hours and sees those taking part on a relentless 5-mile loops “packed with brutal climbs, unforgiving terrain, and a constantly evolving gauntlet of new obstacles, reimagined classics, and cruel surprises,” according to organisers. This year, Ben, 50, took on the challenge alongside his sons, Sam and Jack, and reflected on the experience in a new Instagram post. Alongside pictures and videos of them in action, the presenter said: “So it was 24 hours of mud, sweat, blister, exhaustion and zero sleep (for me!) but more than anything, this was about connection “Taking on World’s Toughest Mudder with my boys Sam and Jack, and my godson Ben, was one of the most brutal attritional quite frankly ridiculous things I’ve ever done, but without doubt one of the most rewarding. “We lifted each other (sometimes literally), laughed through the pain, and leaned on the energy of everyone around us, friends, strangers, and the amazing @toughmuddereurope crew who were phenomenal.” He added: “Fit at 50 isn’t about how fast you are or how strong you feel. It’s about showing up. It’s about holding yourself accountable. Saying yes to things that scare you. And doing it all with the people you love. If you’re thinking about setting yourself a challenge… do it. And remember: you don’t have to do it alone.” Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid was quick to comment, writing; “Utterly brilliant – incredible challenge for the family to do altogether – wonderful unforgettable experience.” GMB’s weather expert Alex Beresford posted: “You and the boys smashed it.” This Morning’s Dr Zoe Williams said: “What a thing to do as a family.” Presenter Matt Baker commented: “Total Respect my friend, well muddy done,” while Jenni Falconer shared: “This just looks ridiculously hard.” Fans were also keen to heap praise. @k_j_p_83 said: “Absolutely amazing! Well done to you all.” @hungry.al commented; “Well done Ben. Amazing achievement. Keep it going.” @jackiemartynjohns wrote: “Well done to you and your boys, making wonderful muddy memories.” @_susie_e replied: “Great challenge, well done to you and the boys.” @jacobofearth shared: “Beyond exceptional. You’re inspiring every generation here Ben, fathers and children alike. The biggest respect to you.” @helencohenpilates added: “Amazing achievement to complete this together with your family.”
