Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed with a traditional performance of Bhojpuri Chautaal on his arrival in Trinidad and Tobago on July 3, marking the start of his first official visit to the Caribbean nation. The ceremony at Piarco International Airport also included a ceremonial Guard of Honour and greetings from Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, accompanied by 38 ministers and four Members of Parliament.Bhojpuri beats echo in Caribbean nationSharing a video of the musical welcome on his official X account, PM Modi wrote: “Bhojpuri Chautaal echoes in Trinidad & Tobago!” The vibrant welcome reflected the strong cultural connection between the Indian diaspora and their ancestral roots.
