BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. The
Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha road project was recognized as the winner
in the nomination “Innovative Construction Methodology” of the
International Road Federation, Eyyub Huseynov, a project engineer
at the Azerbaijan State Automobile Roads Agency (AAYDA), told
It was noted that the road infrastructure in the liberated
territories is being built qualitatively and at a level that meets
modern requirements. During construction, reinforced concrete and
metal fences and lighting systems were installed along the road.
These include the Ahmadbayli-Fizuli-Shusha highway.
“The new road is an alternative to the “Victory Road”. The new
road is also shorter than the “Victory Road”. The length of the
“Victory Road” is 101 kilometers, while the length of the new road
is 81.7 kilometers. The new road will reduce the distance by 19.3
kilometers. The first 48 kilometers of the road, which corresponds
to the first technical category, consist of 6 lanes, and the
remaining 33.7 kilometers – of 4 lanes. Along the entire length of
the road, there is 1 interchange, 11 bridges, 7 tunnels, 6
viaducts, underpasses and other necessary infrastructure. The total
length of the bridges built within the framework of the project is
1,557 meters,” he noted.
The agency representative also provided information on the
progress of construction work on the Akhmedbeyli-Fizuli-Shusha
“During the construction works along the road, reinforced
concrete and metal barriers, fences, lighting systems were
installed. The Ahmadbayli-Fizuli-Shusha highway connects Fizuli,
Khojavend, Khojaly and Shusha, originating from the
Hajigabul-Horadiz-Agbend-Zangezur corridor highway”.
This road was built in accordance with the “I State Program on
the Great Return to the Liberated Territories of the Republic of
Azerbaijan”, approved by the order of the President of Azerbaijan.
The implementation of the project is of great importance in terms
of diversifying the internal road network and improving transport
links between the region and other regions of the republic. At the
