Aston Villa loan man told he is 'free to go' after manager snub

Enzo Maresca has delivered a clear message to the likes of Aston Villa loanee Axel Disasi and other Chelsea exiles. Defender Disasi , who spent the second half of last term with Unai Emery鈥檚 men, is one of several high profile players who are watching the Blues鈥 Club World Cup exploits from the sidelines. The likes of Disasi, Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix and Ben Chilwell were all left out of the squad that travelled to the United States, where Chelsea are now in the semi-finals of the revamped competition. And with new signings Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr now joined by Jamie Gittens, with Estevao Willian, competition for places is going to be even more intense. Which is why Maresca has told anyone who doesn鈥檛 want to be at Stamford Bridge can move on. Maresca said: 鈥淢y message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us. The ones that are not happy, they are free to go.鈥 To be fair Disasi has never said he wants to leave Chelsea, but his chances of a comeback seem remote and having played ten times for Villa last term, he has been linked with Newcastle United and Saudi Arabian outift Al-Ahli. It is unlikely Disasi will return to Villa, either permanently or on another loan.
