Amid much anticipation, Sriram Venu鈥檚 poignant action drama Thammudu arrived in theatres today, July 4. Featuring actor Nithiin in the lead, the film opened to mixed responses from fans and critics alike. Days before the release, the production house behind the film, Sri Venkateswara Creations, shared a clip on the official Instagram handle which captured behind-the-scenes moments, allowing a peek into the hard work that went into the project.
The clip begins with the team performing aarti before starting the shooting, and a follow-up text on screen reads, 鈥淎 storm is coming.鈥 Then, the team is seen prepping for an action sequence that involves a car and a bus. Then, the protagonist appears, filming for hand-to-hand combat scenes and later talking to the director of the film, Sriram Venu. Saurabh Sachdeva who plays a key role in the film also makes it to the video. As the clip progresses, Laya, Swasika and other cast members are also introduced.

Directed by Sriram Venu, Thammudu marks the return of Laya to the silver screen after a long break. Besides Nithiin and Laya, the film also features Sapthami Gowda, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi, Chammak Chandra and Varsha Bollamma in key roles.
Earlier, the makers also released the teaser, showcasing Nithiin as a trained archer, trapped in a place with his sister. At the end of the glimpse, the actor is heard saying, 鈥淵ou are considered dead even if you are alive if you can鈥檛 keep up your word. You are considered alive even if you are dead when you keep your promise.鈥
Set in a mysterious place called Ambaragodugu, Thammudu explores a touching bond between a brother and sister. Nithiin plays a man, raised by his elder sister, Jhansi Kiranmayee, who becomes both his nurturing figure and a pillar of strength. Their life takes a turn after Nithiin鈥檚 character is pulled into a dark and dangerous world where he must battle powerful enemies.
