Aromolaran Marks 60th Birthday In Style, Unveils New Book, “Leading With Impact”

Prince Adeniyi Nehemiah Aromolaran, the Executive Director of Enterprise Services at the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC), recently celebrated his 60th birthday in grand style, using the occasion to unveiling his first official leadership book titled “Leading With Impact: Keys To Avoiding Collateral Damage.”The colourful event held at Munson Centre in Onikan, Lagos, drew top dignitaries, colleagues, friends, and family. Among the guests were the Managing Director/CEO of LSDPC, Hon. Ayodeji Joseph; Managing Director of Remax Realtors Limited, Mrs Funke Adesoji; top government officials and members of the business community.Prince Aromolaran, fondly called “AA” by friends and colleagues, is widely recognised as a transformational leader with a strong track record at LSDPC. Born on June 21, 1965, he is a Fellow and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and a certified IFC/LPI performance development facilitator and trainer. He studied Finance and Banking at the University of Lagos and has over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He also founded Nehemiah Resources Limited, an MSME consulting firm supporting startups across Africa. His wealth of experience inspired him to write Leading With Impact, a practical leadership book focused on avoiding what he describes as “collateral damage” — the unintended harm leaders can cause when expectations are not properly managed.Speaking at the event, Aromolaran revealed that the idea for the book came from a legacy project during a leadership course. “We had 21 days to deliver a legacy project, and instead of one, we ended up doing seven,” he said. He explained that the book explores how missed expectations — such as a student wanting to study medicine but ending up in another field — can derail a person’s path and lead to long-term dissatisfaction.“My birthday wish is to visit at least five secondary schools in Lagos to speak to students about the ideas in the book,” he said. “No matter the gift you give me, my real joy is in spending time with young people, helping them understand leadership and how to lead themselves, the nation, and the world.”Some of the schools he hopes to visit include Methodist Boys High School and Surulere Baptist School. He appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to adopt five schools each to help him reach more young minds.Reviewing the book at the event, Professor Abraham Osinubi, Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Lagos, praised it as “timely and transformational,” especially in today’s fast-changing world. He noted that the book stands out for its emotional honesty and clear message about the human cost of poor leadership.“This book talks about what many others avoid — the damage done when leaders chase success without empathy,” Prof. Osinubi said. “Prince Aromolaran addresses the ‘4 Ds’: Disappointment, Disillusion, Depression, and Desperation, as real consequences of failed leadership.”According to the professor, Leading With Impact isn’t just theory; it’s personal. “The author shares not only his leadership wins but also his struggles, prayers, and lessons learned. That’s what makes the book powerful — it is heartfelt and real.”Hon. Ayodeji Joseph, in his remarks, described Aromolaran as a model leader. “He’s a team player, very disciplined, and always the first to arrive at the office. Despite being older than me, he’s very supportive and respectful. He motivates everyone around him,” he said. Also speaking, Ibukun Aromolaran, one of his children, described his father as “hardworking, ambitious, passionate, strict and disciplined. He never does things halfway. He wants everything done with excellence.”The book is seen as a timely resource for African leaders and young people alike. It answers the call for leadership that is visionary, value-driven, and humane.
