Weddings are always special, but they become truly memorable when they reflect love, respect and the union of two cultures. That鈥檚 exactly what made one ceremony between an American bride and an Indian groom so heartwarming. In a beautiful gesture to honour her groom鈥檚 heritage, the bride chose to embrace his culture by wearing something deeply meaningful and unexpected.
Shared on Instagram, the video shows American bride Rachel Charity Brown in a white lehenga instead of the usual white gown that most Western brides wear. To complete the look, she wore her dupatta over her head like a veil. The lehenga was a soft ivory colour, which gave it the feel of a white wedding gown while still keeping the Indian style.
Her groom, Amar Chahal, is seen wiping away tears as he sees her for the first time in the lehenga. Standing beside his groomsmen, all dressed in white formal wear, Amar wore a cream-coloured sherwani.
The video also featured an overlay text, 鈥淧OV: You surprise your fianc茅 by wearing a lehenga on your wedding day.鈥
In the caption, Rachel simply wrote, 鈥淗is reaction made it worth it.鈥

鈥淥kay lehenga with the veil is sooo cool,鈥 a person commented.
鈥淭his is the sweetest wedding I鈥檝e ever seen,鈥 someone added while another said, 鈥淭his is so stunning. From the bride, to the outfit, to the gesture itself.鈥
A viewer pointed out, 鈥淥h my god, the lehenga is perfect. It鈥檚 ivory white, so it鈥檚 a perfect mixture of your & his culture. Love that for you.鈥
Earlier, a video had grabbed attention where a woman from Chicago was seen dressed as a Kashmiri bride by a makeup artist based in Jammu. She wore a yellow and pink lehenga, paired with a long emerald necklace, a choker and jhumkas. Her look was completed with a traditional Kashmiri dejhoor, a hanging ear ornament worn by Kashmiri Pandit women after marriage. Her bridal look earned widespread praise online.
