Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, a constituent college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, will be holding a hands-on workshop on Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization (MALDI- TOF) instrumentation, for students, research scholars, faculty, and professionals across disciplines such as Agricultural Sciences, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry, to gain practical knowledge of the advanced technology.
MALDI is a sensitive and rapid soft ionisation technique used in mass spectrometry to detect and analyse high-molecular-weight compounds such as proteins, peptides, lipids, and polymers without fragmentation.
According to an official release, the session, to be held in July, will cover the fundamentals of MALDI and MALDI-TOF, sample preparation techniques, instrument handling, and data analysis, and is open to interested candidates for registration.
