An Israeli soldier was killed in an apparent accident in the southern Gaza Strip on July 10, the Israel Defence Forces said. The slain soldier, who served as team commander in IDF鈥檚 Golani Brigade, died during an offensive in Khan Younis. The 21-year-old soldier died as Israeli troops worked to rig up buildings with mines that are suspected to be used by Hamas. Soon after the buildings were mined, an explosion occurred which led to the death of the Israel soldier identified as Cpt. Reei Biran. Meanwhile, Israeli attacks across Gaza have killed at least 82 people since dawn on July 10, according to Gaza鈥檚 Health Ministry.
