<p>A wave of anxiety over a string of heart attack-related deaths in Karnataka—particularly in Hassan district—has led to an extraordinary surge in patients at Jayadeva Hospital in Mysuru, with hundreds lining up daily for cardiac screenings. The public concern comes after disturbing reports of 18 young individuals reportedly dying of heart attacks in Hassan.</p>
<p>The reports have prompted people from across the region to flock to the state-run cardiac hospital. Long queues for outpatient consultations began forming as early as dawn, with hospital officials reporting that daily footfall has crossed the thousand mark—nearly double the usual numbers.</p>
