Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has disclosed that some governors and senior members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are covertly supporting an opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a recent interview on TVC News, Lawal claimed these APC figures are working behind the scenes to align with the coalition’s goal of removing the current administration.
Lawal stated that these APC members have not publicly declared their support for the opposition coalition. He suggested that their actions are driven by a desire to unseat the current administration.
“Yes, there are [APC members working with the coalition], and they will speak for themselves. Some might not be brave or bold enough to do it the way I have, but there are very many—some tell me, including some governors,” he said.
