Kerry Katona has shared her true feelings on the infamous Atomic Kitten ‘feud’ which has seen her estranged from her bandmates for over two decades. The singer, 44, who rose to fame in the band back in 1998 and was in the group until 2001, was a forming member of the group alongside Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon and was replaced by Jenny Frost after exiting the band.
The band’s debut album, Right Now, was released in 2000 and reached number one in the UK charts, and the following year Kerry left the group after falling pregnant with her first child and was replaced by Jenny Frost.
But admitting she wishes they’d stayed friends, Kerry writes in her most recent New! Magazine column that she would like to still be close to her bandmates.
Friendship Never Ends
I read last week that Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner weren’t expected to be at Mel B鈥檚 wedding, which is a shame. It would be sad if they weren鈥檛 going due to a fallout, as the Spice Girls have so much history.
It鈥檚 like me and Atomic Kitten 鈥 I do wish I was closer to the girls because we had amazing experiences together. But sometimes it is what it is, and I鈥檓 sure Mel鈥檚 wedding day was amazing.
Give Meghan A Break
I know we鈥檙e all sick of talking about Meghan Markle, but I think people are a bit hard on her, to be honest. She鈥檚 recently brought out her own range of wines, as well as her lifestyle brand. I don鈥檛 blame her for using her platform 鈥 I鈥檇 do the same if things were being offered to me.
I also thought it was ridiculous that people were getting angry at the video she posted last month of herself dancing in the hospital while pregnant 鈥 what was wrong with that?! She looked happy and was dancing, there鈥檚 a lot worse she could have been doing. Although, don鈥檛 get me wrong, I didn鈥檛 like her Netflix show 鈥 I thought it was a load of rubbish!
That’s My Girl
Heidi recently did her first solo magazine photoshoot and interview 鈥 I鈥檓 so proud of her. She鈥檚 a natural. I was there for the shoot as it was at our house but I wasn鈥檛 involved, I was just making sure everything went smoothly 鈥 like the momager!
She said in the interview she鈥檚 thinking about getting lip filler, which I鈥檝e told her is up to her, now she鈥檚 18. But if she does, she has to book in with a practitioner I trust 鈥 I wouldn鈥檛 want her going just anywhere.
Old Fashioned Family Fun
Tommy Fury said recently that he doesn鈥檛 want to 鈥渟poil鈥 his daughter Bambi too much with lavish holidays, and has bought a campervan for old-fashioned caravan holidays, which I think is great. I really commend him for that. Kids need normality – especially when they鈥檙e being raised in the public eye. He and Molly-Mae Hague do seem like great parents.
I think old-fashioned parenting is what this country is missing, everyone has gone too soft. Saying that, I鈥檓 not one to talk because I鈥檓 so soft on my younger kids 鈥 I think that comes with age.
Taking Time Out
I鈥檝e finally had a more chilled week, which was much needed after my busy lifestyle lately! I鈥檝e spent a lot more time at home and it鈥檚 been pure bliss.
I had a hair refresh from The Style Lounge in Alderley Edge 鈥 the team there are amazing and I鈥檓 feeling so much better! I enjoyed a really nice weekend with DJ, too. It鈥檚 been so good to spend some relaxed time with the family without rushing off anywhere.
