Ripple Waterfalls in Idukki draws hundreds with monsoon magic and safety upgrades

Tucked away in Kerala鈥檚 picturesque Idukki district, Ripple Waterfalls has emerged as a tranquil haven for nature lovers. As water cascades down the hillside, wrapped in a veil of cool mist, the soothing sounds of the falls and the surrounding forest invite visitors to pause and take it all in.

Situated along the Muthirappuzhayar River, the site now features a riverside pavilion that offers a safe and scenic viewpoint for tourists. Thanks to recent efforts by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), the area has seen a surge in footfall. The authorities have installed fences and upgraded other amenities to ensure both safety and comfort for visitors.

鈥淲e are seeing a steady influx of both foreign and domestic tourists. On average, 600 to 700 visitors come daily to experience Ripple Waterfalls,鈥 said an employee of the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC). 鈥淚nside the compound, we鈥檙e providing all kinds of visitor facilities,鈥 he added.

The monsoon season, though unpredictable at times, has only added to the waterfall鈥檚 allure. The rains rejuvenate the surroundings, transforming the landscape into a lush green paradise and making the falls even more majestic.

Ripple Waterfalls is fast becoming a must-visit eco-destination, balancing natural beauty with thoughtful tourism management.
