Delhi Shocker: Semi-Decomposed Body of 35-Year-Old Man Found in Locked House

New Delhi: The semi-decomposed body of a 35-year-old man was found inside a locked rented house on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur area. According to news agency PTI, the deceased has been identified as Mohd Idrish, a resident of New Usmanpur, he said. Police were alerted in the afternoon about foul smell emanating from the locked premises, following which a team from the New Usmanpur police station reached the spot. “On entering the house, a male body was found lying on the floor in a semi-decomposed state. The Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory team inspected the scene,” the officer said. The body was sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem and legal proceedings were initiated. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident, he added. In a separate news, Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested notorious serial killer Ajay Lamba alias Bansi, who was known for his brutal robbery-cum-murder cases targeting cab drivers across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during the year 2001. Bansi would hire taxis for interstate travel, sedate and murder the driver, dump his body and then pawn the vehicle to Nepal. He is said to be involved in at least four such killings, but the police suspect the count could be more. He had been absconding for the last 25 years. “The accused, a notorious robber-cum-murderer, was involved in four brutal robbery-cum-murder cases targeting cab drivers across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during the year 2001. He would hire taxis with accomplices, murder the drivers, rob the vehicles, and dispose of the bodies in remote mountainous regions to avoid detection,” Aditya Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said in a statement, The Times of India reported. The cab would then be smuggled across the border and sold in Nepal. With PTI Inputs
