FHRD launches annual HR conference and expo

The Malta Foundation for Human Resource Development (FHRD) has launched its annual conference and expo. Considered the most significant and influential annual HR conference on the island for all things related to human resources, training and business management, the event is being held at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre, St Julian’s, on October 8. This year’s overall conference theme is ‘HR Ignite: Elevate Your People’ and will be a dynamic event dedicated to exploring the future of human resources and its transformative role in shaping successful, high-performing organisations. With a focus on empowering HR professionals, leaders and organisations to harness the full potential of their workforce, the conference will provide cutting-edge insights and practical strategies for navigating today’s rapidly changing workplace. As the business world evolves, HR is at the forefront of driving cultural change, innovation and organisational success. HR Ignite will bring together thought leaders, industry experts and HR professionals to discuss key trends, challenges and best practices that are redefining how talent is managed, engaged and developed. The conference will empower HR professionals to lead with confidence, drive positive change and cultivate a workplace culture that supports both individual growth and organisational success. Interactive workshops Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in pre-selected interactive workshops. The late morning session will allow the delegates to attend one workshop out of three, delivered by local and international HR professionals. Nurit Hattab, an internationally recognised DEI expert, will lead a workshop entitled ‘Empowering People: Employee-Led D&I Strategies for a Truly Inclusive Workplace’. Tara Alvarez Garcia, leadership coach and founder at TYS Coaching, will deliver the workshop: ‘Lead with Impact: Inspiring & Engaging Teams for Success’, while Margret Barzachka-Nikolova, senior director human resources at Teva, Bulgaria, will discuss ‘Building a Legacy: Succession Planning & Retaining High-Potential Talent’. The afternoon sessions will allow delegates to choose two workshops out of six. Again these sessions will be delivered by local and international HR professionals. Cosmina Coman, founder of Learning Pro, Specialist in Employee Advocacy, will deliver a workshop entitled ‘Fuelling Advocacy: Employee Activation During Organisational Change’. Dragan Donkov, progress partner for leaders and teams at Carob Consult, will lead a workshop entitled ‘HR as the Architect of a Well-being-First Culture: Building Organisational Health Through Social Capital’, and Yasmin De Giorgio, chief executive officer at Shireburn Software and founder at Sanya Eco Spa, will tackle ‘Humans, Not Resources: Reclaiming Humanity in Workplace Culture’. Alex Galea, CEO at Mdina Partners, will discuss ‘From Managers to People Champions: Making Line Leaders the First HR Contact’. John Mallia, managing director at MediaCoop Ltd, will deliver a workshop entitled ‘Energise Employee Engagement through Personalised Career Development’, and Jonathan Camilleri, head of HR at KonnektTalexio, will discuss ‘Elevating Decisions – Leveraging Data for a Thriving Workforce’.
