Health Minister Veena George visits family of woman who died in Kottayam Medical College building collapse
The minister’s visit comes amid strong criticism and protests from Opposition parties, who had staged demonstrations citing that she had not visited the family earlier
On Sunday, 6 July, Kerala Health Minister Veena George visited the family of D Bindu (54), who lost her life in the recent building collapse at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. The minister arrived at Bindu鈥檚 residence in Ummamkunnu in the Thalayolaparambu area of the Kottayam district at around 7 am on Sunday.
Bindu鈥檚 husband, Vishruthan, and mother were consoled by the minister, who assured them of the government鈥檚 support. She promised that the state would meet all the needs of the family. Vishruthan, who only requested a job for his son, expressed satisfaction with the government鈥檚 response.
