Indian Prime Minister to undertake state visit to Namibia next week

Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India will undertake a state visit to Namibia next week, reinforcing the long-standing and historic relationship between the two countries.

The Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy is expected to arrive in Namibia on Wednesday, 9 July 2025.

During the visit, he will hold official talks with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas such as trade and investment, environmental sustainability, and education. He will also visit Heroes’ Acre to pay tribute to Namibia’s Founding President, the late Dr Sam Nujoma.

The National Assembly’s Senior Public Relations Officer, Sakeus Kadhikwa, confirmed that Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to address a Joint Sitting of the Namibian Parliament on Wednesday afternoon.
