Rishabh Pant's Bat Goes Flying As India Wicketkeeper Attempts Big Shot | Watch

India’s Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant was in his usual self on Saturday, July 5, on Day 4 of the Edgbaston Test against England, as he sent his bat flying while attempting to go for a big hit, leaving himself, the fielders and the audience in splits too.
Coming in to bat in the 30th over after KL Rahul departed for a well-made 55, Pant smacked a four and a six on the third and fourth balls he faced from Josh Tongue.

With that six, Pant had 22 sixes in Tests against England, the most for any batter in the format in an away nation, going past England skipper Ben Stokes’ 21 in South Africa.

Batting on 31 off 19 balls, Pant was yet again facing Tongue, and there were smiles all around as he had a big hoick at a ball and lost his bat.
It went flying out of Pant’s hands into the square leg region, while the ball went through to Jamie Smith.
Even Pant couldn’t help himself as he looked at the skies with a laugh. Watch the video here:

India’s overall lead surged to 357 as they reached 177/3 at lunch on the fourth day of the second Test against England, in Edgbaston.
Captain Shubman Gill was batting on 24 with his deputy Pant at the other end, making a brisk 41 not out with five boundaries and two sixes.
India added 113 runs in the first session and lost a couple of wickets in the form of overnight batters Karun Nair (26) and KL Rahul (55).
Resuming at 64/1, India suffered the first setback in the day when Nair edged one behind off Brydon Carse and was dismissed for 26 (46 balls, 5 fours).
KL Rahul completed his fifty but lost his middle stump when Josh Tongue angled one in, walking back for an 84-ball 55 with 10 boundaries.
