Oasis represented Manchester City throughout the opening night of their reunion tour in Cardiff. Friday was the first of 41 shows on the Oasis Live ’25 Tour as part of the band’s reunion after 16 years apart. Heaton Park is all set to host five of those dates starting next week, but the concerts kicked off at the Principality Stadium. Several fans wore City shirts in the Cardiff crowd. The club’s crest featured as part of their set while a cardboard cutout of Pep Guardiola , with a sky blue and white scarf wrapped around it, also joined them on stage. Both are visible in the band’s post across their social media channels following the performance, which reads: “It has begun.” City also shared photos from the show afterwards. They captioned one post with a lyric from the song ‘Acquiesce’. “Because we need each other, we believe in one another!” it reads, punctuated with a sky blue heart. The club also wished them well earlier in the day. Alongside images from the band’s previous shows, their caption began with a lyric from the song ‘Hello’: “Hello, hello. It’s good to be back!” “Wishing the best of luck to Oasis as they return to the stage this evening!” The band also reposted that onto their Instagram story. City also used one more lyric in their pre-concert content. Posting images of several players past and present – Erling Haaland, Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker, Leroy Sane and Jeremy Doku dribbling with the ball – they quoted the song ‘Supersonic’, saying: “I’m feeling supersonic!” Oasis play the Principality Stadium again on Saturday before the tour moves from Cardiff to Manchester . Their first show is on Friday, July 11, with another the following night, then further ones on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday ahead of headlining Wembley Stadium.
