Brad Pitt鈥檚 F1 Maintains Box Office Momentum, Eyes Rs 50 Crore In Weekend

Brad Pitt鈥檚 latest film, F1 (Formula One), is performing exceptionally well at the Indian box office. The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski, has been holding strong on its second Friday even after having fewer screenings. The Brad Pitt-starrer debuted in India with Rs 5.50 crore, making it a rare standalone Hollywood film to earn Rs 5 crore or more. According to estimates, it has added Rs 3.25 crore net to the tally, bringing the total to Rs 38.69 crore net in India.
Reportedly, by the end of the second weekend, the film is expected to have grossed more than Rs 50 crore. However, the film will have stiff competition from new releases this week Metro鈥n Dino and Jurassic World Rebirth. The movie, which was released on June 27, had a successful opening weekend, earning Rs 21.4 crore against competition from Indian films such as Maa and Kannappa. The global collection of F1 stands at Rs 1600 cr by the end of the second Friday. What鈥檚 more noteworthy is that F1 is a stand-alone film, not part of a series or franchise, unlike many Hollywood films that have previously performed well in India.
F1 is supported by producer Jerry Bruckheimer and F1 legend Lewis Hamilton. Aside from Brad Pitt, F1 The Movie stars Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Tobias Menzeles, and Kerry Condon in supporting roles. The racing drama tells the story of Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a New York City-based Formula One driver who retired after a horrific crash. Following his forced retirement from Formula One, he began competing in other disciplines and working as a taxi driver. Decades later, he returns to the high-stakes world of racing, determined to prove himself once more.
Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), a friend and former teammate, brings him back to Formula One to coach his team. Sonny is tasked with training a new driver, Joshua Pierce, played by Damson Idris. In addition to the main characters, the film will include professional F1 drivers Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz, among others.
