'I Pay More Tax': Fiery Debate After Woman Refuses To Speak Marathi In Pune | Watch

The conflict over speaking regional language reignited in Maharashtra once again. In the latest incident, a heated argument ensued between a non-Marathi speaking woman and a man in Pune. A video of their fiery debate on a busy road has emerged on social media platform X.
Throughout the video, the Hindi-speaking woman insisted on speaking Hindi, citing it as the national language.
In the video, a woman behind the camera was heard arguing to the man who asked her speak Marathi. The man asked the woman to speak to speak Marathi, giving the argument that she is employed in Maharashtra. The woman countered saying, Hindi is the national language and she will speak in Hindi only.

鈥淗indi is the regional language. I am Hindu. I will speak in Hindi only,鈥 the woman whose face was not captured in the video said explicitly.
Both the people involved in the heated debate were seen recording each other.
As the man continued his talk with by-standers in Marathi, the woman was heard repeating that she didn鈥檛 understand what he was saying in the regional language.
鈥淚 am a Hindustani. Do you have the copyright?鈥, the woman was heard saying as the heated exchange continued.
The woman continued her argument, saying she paid more tax to the state government.
鈥淚 pay more tax to the Maharashtra government, than you. We (hindi-speaking people) don鈥檛 earn black money. We earn white money and pay full tax to government.鈥
As the woman criticized the man for his remarks, he sat in his vehicle and left.
