To tackle rising cases of fraud and fake calls, the DoT has not only tightened the process of SIM issuance but also launched an initiative to deactivate fake numbers.

How to Check and Block Unauthorised SIMs:

Visit the official portal: https://www.sancharsaathi.gov.in
Go to Citizen-Centric Services and click on the TAFCOP option.
Enter your mobile number, fill in the captcha, and verify using the OTP sent to your phone.
Once verified, you鈥檒l see a list of all mobile numbers linked to your Aadhaar.
If you spot a number that you don鈥檛 recognise, select 鈥淣ot My Number鈥 and report it for deactivation.
