Mumbai Metro Line 14, also known as the Magenta Line, is a major upcoming metro corridor that will significantly improve connectivity between Mumbai and the Thane district. Stretching over 39 kilometres, the line will run from Kanjurmarg to Badlapur, passing through key residential, commercial, and industrial zones. Once operational, it will drastically reduce traffic congestion and travel time, while promoting sustainable urban mobility in the rapidly expanding Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). However, the project requires special clearances due to its alignment through environmentally sensitive areas like the Parsik Hills and the Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary.
