KMU organizes orientation, training session on Fahm-e-Quran course

PESHAWAR, Jul 03 (APP):Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, organized an orientation and training session in connection with the recently introduced 鈥淔ahm-e-Qur鈥檃n鈥 course, approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, for undergraduate students.

The primary objective of the session was to brief faculty members on the course鈥檚 aims, instructional methodology, and its national significance.

The keynote address was delivered by Mufti Siddiq Ahmad Roghani, Head of Academia Facilitation at the Character Education Foundation.

He elaborated on the instructional approach and academic requirements of the course, emphasizing that the Holy Qur鈥檃n teaches supreme moral values such as justice, honesty, tolerance, modesty, trust, and responsibility.

He stated that understanding these values will bring about positive ethical transformation in youth, fostering social harmony and tolerance.

Mufti Roghani further remarked that the Qur鈥檃n course is not merely a religious subject but a comprehensive medium for intellectual, moral, and cultural training.

He commended HEC鈥檚 initiative as a timely and commendable step towards aligning the national education system with Islamic values, nurturing intellectual maturity in youth, and establishing a balanced, peaceful, and morally upright society.

Roghani emphasized that understanding the Qur鈥檃n supports individual reform and harmonizes personal character with the Islamic and constitutional framework of the state, thereby strengthening national unity and cohesion.

In her opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of Basic Medical Sciences at KMU, stated that Pakistan is an Islamic state and the Holy Qur鈥檃n is the final divine revelation and a complete code of life for Muslims.

Understanding the Qur鈥檃n not only imparts religious consciousness to students but also guides them in shaping their character and navigating various aspects of life. She added that the Qur鈥檃n鈥檚 balanced and moderate approach helps protect youth from misinterpretation of religion and prevents tendencies toward extremism, sectarianism, and intolerance.

She highlighted that Qur鈥檃nic teachings provide inner peace, patience, gratitude, and reliance on Allah鈥攙alues greatly needed in today鈥檚 high-pressure academic environment.

Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Zill-e-Huma, Director Academics at KMU, reiterated that HEC鈥檚 approval of the Qur鈥檃n course for undergraduates is a milestone for the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of the younger generation.

She stressed that the integration of modern education with religious insight will produce a generation capable of meeting global academic standards while preserving their religious identity.

Additional director Academics Muhammad Islam also spoke to the session and reiterated that KMU Academic section will provide all possible support to the faculty of Fahm-e-Quran course in constituent as well as affiliated institutes of KMU.
