'I try to keep her on the straight and narrow' Yvonne Connolly is in full granny mode according to Jack

Yvonne Connolly has morphed into full granny mode when it comes to doting on Maya, according to her son Jack.

The radio host has opened up about only getting to see his little girl, who lives with her mum in the UK, every few weeks, and how the temptation to spoil her when she is in Ireland is all too real.

That also extends to his mum, Yvonne, who, like every other typical grandparent, is prone to giving Maya treats.

‘When she does come over, it’s hard not to spoil her. My mam is in proper granny mode, every time Maya’s over, she’s like, “oh a little bit of chocolate here or there, juices and nice drinks”, but I’m trying to keep her on the straight and narrow,’ he joked to VIP.

Jack praised Yvonne for how well she has taken to being a granny and how much she loves it.

He also divulged that Ronan adores being a grandparent, but not so much being called a grandad because it makes him feel old.

Jack touched on the differences he sees watching his parents as grandparents, saying: ‘They don’t have to crack the whip, they have all the fun, spoil her rotten!’

‘They’re the typical grandparents in that they might have a few hours and hand her back sugar-wired, absolutely wrecked. It’s so great watching them both go through that phase of life,’ he added.

His words come as he jets to the US to spend some time with his sister, Missy.
