Benidorm鈥檚 much-loved Les Nits del Castell has officially returned for another summer season. The artisan market will take place throughout July, August, and until 30 September, running daily from 7pm to 1am. Organised by the Department of Commerce and the local traders鈥 association, the event once again fills the historic Plaza de Castelar and Plaza de la Senyor铆a with colour, creativity, and culture.
This year鈥檚 edition features 13 officially accredited artisans offering handmade items ranging from sterling silver jewellery and precious stones to handmade soaps, cold porcelain, and beaded accessories. A dozen artists, including portraitists, caricaturists and silhouette cutters, also take part, offering live artworks to passers-by in Plaza Castelar.
In addition to the market stalls, artisan workshops will be held every Monday to Thursday at 8pm in Plaza de la Senyor铆a. Each session is led by one of the participating makers, who will share their creative techniques with visitors.
Crafts, art and inclusion
The Association of People with Disabilities of Benidorm and the surrounding region (Asmibe) also has a dedicated stall. Visitors can support their work by purchasing handcrafted fans, notebooks, and other items made by its members 鈥 a gesture that reflects the local council鈥檚 commitment to inclusion and community support.
During a visit to the market, Mayor Toni P茅rez and Councillor for Commerce Javier Jord谩 encouraged both residents and tourists to enjoy the vibrant summer offering, which aims to revitalise Benidorm鈥檚 old town through culture, creativity, and commercial activity.
